DNA Barcoding Services

Leveraging our expertise in DNA sequencing, we offer DNA barcoding/identification services for pure isolates of bacterial, fungal, plant and animal samples. DNA barcoding/identification services for mixed isolates of bacterial and fungal samples are also available to sequence their cloned product.

Molecular methods will be employed to give more accurate and reproducible results and identifying the samples down to the genus level.

Appropriate controls are used at all levels to ensure the results are consistent and of the highest quality. All reports include the assembled sequences of your samples and the alignment of the top 10 hits to GenBank databases.

Protocol

  1. gDNA extraction from raw sample (please refer our sample submission guideline)
  2. PCR Amplification of the chosen conserved regions from the extracted gDNA
  3. Purification of the PCR Product
  4. Bi-directional sequencing of the PCR Product/ cloned DNA
  5. Data alignment and BLAST of results

Our DNA barcoding services is now coupled with sample preparation services, allowing you to get the results in the shortest turnaround time, so that you are able to focus in the data analysis and decide the next move of your research experiments.

In order to increase the success rate to extract the nucleic acid before amplifying the target conserved region for DNA barcoding, the sample submission needs to follow our acceptable guidelines. Such information is available in the order form. Minimum setup fee will apply when PCR service fails due to bad quality of sample that did not meet the prescribed terms and conditions.

If customers are providing the primer design(s) to be used in their custom DNA barcoding, we will offer a custom service work plan to be reviewed and accepted by the customer before confirming the inquiry. All custom DNA barcoding will require minimum of 5 samples.
