1st BASE Magnetic Rack is designed for fast and efficient magnetic separation of magnetic beads in tube-based workflows, commonly used in nucleic acid extraction applications.
The magnetic rack is supplied with two-component system:
Magnet Rack (Base)
- Permanent magnet with magnetic field intensity of more than 5500 gauss.
Tube Rack (Top)
- Removable tube rack.
These components allow the tube rack to be easily detached from the magnetic base which provide conveniency to user. This feature enables direct placement of tubes on a shaker or vortex mixer during extraction procedures, without the need to remove the tubes from the rack.

FEATURES
- Strong permanent magnet
- Efficient sample recovery
- Enhanced sample visibility
- Quick tube removal
- Optimized tube angle for easy aspiration

Magnetic Rack Performance
Visibility
- Optimized design ensures high clarity, providing excellent visibility of magnetic bead binding during processing.

Figure 1. The rack designed for multi-angle clarity to ensure consistent observation of magnetic binding during procedures.
Magnetic Binding Time
- 5-60 seconds (varies by magnetic bead solution), enabling rapid and efficient processing.
Bead Compatibility
- Compatible with magnetic beads from multiple leading brands
Storage and Stability
- The magnet, composed of permanent magnets, must be stored in a dry and cool place and should never be used at a temperature above 50oC.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Recommendation:
- 70% Isopropyl Alcohol
- 1% Sodium Hypochlorite Solution (bleach)
- 0.1N HCI solution
- Spray and wipe only - do not soak or immense into the cleaning solution
- Avoid prolonged exposure to water or aqueous solution
- DO NOT autoclave the rack
